[ACTUALIZADO MAYO y JUNIO] Puerto Rico COVID-19: Lista de recursos y ayudas para artistas y trabajadores musicales
En estos momentos lo que necesitamos es solidaridad. Sobretodo en esta nueva crisis que nos vemos, LaRabieta se une para compartirles un listado de recursos y ayudas para artistas y freelancers dedicados al trabajo creativo y artístico, además ayudas para aquellos negocios y establecimientos y locales afectados por el COVID-19 en Puerto Rico. Espero que les ayude y les sea útil.
Queremos aprovechar para hacer un llamado a todas las asociaciones y federaciones, uniones, fundaciones, compañías con y sin fines de lucro, empresas bancarias, centros de convenciones, universidades privadas, escuelas, coliseos y otros grandes venues, agencias de mercadeo y publicidad, instituciones privadas y públicas que contratan y se benefician del trabajo creativo, artístico y musical, a que este es el momento preciso de unirse en crear un fondo dotal para la clase artística local en Puerto Rico. El fondo debe crearse con el fin de usarse para este tipo de emergencias, y otras como huracanes y terremotos, que los participantes puedan solicitar por medio de una convocatoria, no se necesita un ente para esto solo voluntad y unión. He tenido la experiencia de ver como uniones, fundaciones, asociaciones, y organizaciones sin fines de lucro de artistas en la ciudad de Nueva York, se han unido para crear fondos y proveer ayuda de forma directa a sus artistas y trabajadores culturales. Puerto Rico tiene todo el mecanismo y recurso para crear un fondo dotal para el artista. Es hora ya! #ApoyaLaMúsicaLocal #SupportLocalMusicians

Importante decir que el listado fue curado solo para residentes en Puerto Rico, en una próxima oportunidad podemos añadir aquellos artistas que están residiendo en Nueva York. Por ahora nos enfocaremos en la isla.

[Nuevo] Fondo La Quilla: algo es algo
Programa (auto gestionado) de micro micro asistencias para artistas, creativos, trabajadores culturales y/o de la industria del servicio que estén bien pero que bien pelaos’, en la mala, en la pelambrera seria, en fin…,en la quilla. Creado por El Local en Santurce, en primera fase se busca recaudar $5,000 para otorgar 50 micro-subvenciones de $100 a individuos que estén bien en las malas. [Nuevo] The Freelance Audio Fund
The Freelance Audio Fund was established to provide emergency relief to the professional audio community impacted by COVID-19. The Fund is not for everyone. It is for those with urgent needs. If this does not describe you, please DO NOT apply. Resources are limited. Priority will be given to Individual freelance audio professionals who work as reporters, producers, editors, and engineers. [Nuevo] Latino Public Broadcasting
Deadline: July 1, 2020, 5 PM PST. The online instructions and applications are available by clicking here. APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH OUR ONLINE PROCESS ON SUBMITTABLE IN ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED. Applicants will be required to create a user account and sign up. Once you have an account, go to the online application and follow the prompts/instructions.

Provides assistance to musicians including musical instrument replacement for musicians affected by disasters.
Crew Nation Fund: Live Nation Relief
Live Nation has launched the Crew Nation initiative and donated $10 million to support crew members from the live music sector affected by the COVID-19 crisis. The deadline is May 1st!
Sweet Relief COVID-19 Fund for Musicians
Sweet Relief created this DONOR-DIRECTED FUND with a limited amount of funds available to be used specifically for musicians and music industry workers affected by the Coronavirus. Funds raised will go towards medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food and other vital living expenses to those impacted due to sickness or loss of work.
Equal Sound Corona Relief Fund
If you are a musician who has lost income due to a canceled gig as a result of the Coronavirus / COVID-19 outbreak, you can apply to receive some money from Equal Sound’s new program.
The Lewis Prize for Music: COVID-19 Community Response Fund
In light of the impact, COVID-19 is having on people across the United States, especially young people, The Lewis Prize for Music is establishing a $1 million COVID-19 Community Response Fund. The fund will distribute over 20 grants of $25,000 to $50,000 to responsive and adaptive Creative Youth Development (CYD) music programs. The application will open on Monday, April 20 and close on Friday, May 8 with grants distributed on June 16.
Rauschenberg Emergency Grants Program
New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is proud to partner with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation to administer a new emergency grant program that will provide visual and media artists and choreographers with one-time grants of up to $5,000 for medical emergencies including but not limited to: hospital and doctor bills (including insurance co-pays), tests, physical/occupational therapy, prescription drugs specifically for the emergency medical condition, and emergency dental work. There is no deadline; applications will be accepted and reviewed by the panel on a monthly basis, the application will open on May 18, 2020, and close on June 15, 2020.

The Broadcasters Foundation of America provides Emergency & Disaster Grants to radio and television broadcasters find themselves in acute financial need and do not have insurance to cover their losses after a natural disaster, such as a hurricane, tornado or wildfire, extreme flooding, house fire, or other serious misfortune.

Red Backpack Fund: Empowered Women Empower Women
Since its inception, Spanx and The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation have been dedicated to elevating and supporting women through entrepreneurship. Knowing the ripple effect that empowering women can have to strengthen neighborhoods, cities, and countries, The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation donated $5 million to support female entrepreneurs in the wake of COVID-19 and teamed up with GlobalGiving to establish The Red Backpack Fund. GlobalGiving will be overseeing the fund, making 1,000 grants of $5,000 each to female entrepreneurs in the U.S. to help alleviate the immediate needs and support the long-term recovery of those impacted by this crisis. Each month, we will accept additional applications. The portal will open for applications again on May 4, June 1, July 6, and August 3.
